Firnstayn, Coat of Arms by Cheetaaaaa Firnstayn, Coat of Arms by Cheetaaaaa
Some maybe remember, that my nationstates.net nation has a protectorate, the Fiordland (I former called it a colony), which mainly bases on Bernhard Hennen's "Die Elfen" books and historicall viking nations, especially Iceland. So this is the coat of arms of it's capital.

Up there stands the nations name in the Fiordlandic Futhark (a runic alphabet I created). On the right half is a spider, the symbol of the protectorates main-religion and on the left is a dragon, that shows the power that Firnstayn has over the rest of the Fiordland. The crown shows that it is the residence of the vice-roy.

Credit for the names Firnstayn and Fiordland to Bernhard Hennen

I love this shield! It's been a while since I've seen someone use a variation of the futhark it looks nice! What religion is this city's religion that deals with a spider?

It's my own Futhark version. But I actually just used the Elder Futhark and added characters from the younger ones. It's a fictive religion, Fiordlandic Paganism, also known as Luthism. The spider is the symbol because the most important god is Luth (spoken Loot), the fate weaver, and the spider is his holy animal.

Thanks anyway. :)

If you want I can show you my variation, it also contains Cyrillic and Greek letters. Also I would love to hear more of your nation's culture and religion!

Yes, that would be good. I like runes. :)

Well, I can tell you more, but fact is, that I work more with my other nation, and so I did and do concentrate more on that one. The Fiordland doesn't allways have my attention.

Very nice work! Did you make the crown by yourself?

Thanks!

Hm, no, I'm not tallented enough to do so, I tried to redesign it a bit, but failed. I'm getting inkscape in near future, it will be much easier then. :)
